Colorado could definitely use a boost in goaltending, and Conklin could easily be a solid backup to Budaj. Theodore would lift salary cap room for the avs while Pittsburgh could use a veteran goaltender like Jose to help encourage young goalie Marc Andre Fleury while providing a solid back up service.

Answer: I hope not (Pens fan). I think the pens are finally starting play decent defense and penalty killing. And with the performance of Sabourin and Conklin during Fleury's injury, I no longer see the goalie position as weak for the Pens. Also, although Fleury struggled early in the season, he was doing quite well for a few weeks before he got injured.

Although Fleury is young, he has significant experince and I would think their Goalie coach (Meloche?) would provide more than adequate 'mentoring'. But I would defer to the top contributors on this subject.

However, when Fleury comes back, the Pens might feel one of their Goalies is expendable, and they may want a solid d-man for the playoffs, especially with Eaton out, as Brahead5 says below.

Answer: Flower is awesome! From a Pens fan perspective, he is great. He will stay and sign autographs after games and talk with you...he's really just a great guy.

As for him as a player, I could not be happier that he is in goal, granted he occasionally has an off night, but it happens. I feel like having him in goal makes the entire team more confident, and we can usually count on him when the rest of the team temporarily craps all over themselves...

I have the Baer Vapor XXXX there pretty nice. The Easton S15 are very light but the toe rips up fast. The Rbk 9K pumps give's you a good feel. i have no idea about the CCM vector 10.0. or the Mission AG 120 and the XP 120. but which skate do you honestly feel are the best

Answer: This one really is a matter of personal preference. There is no right or wrong opinion, but I'll share mine anyhow.

I was always a Daoust guy and when they were bought and killed off by Canstar, I adopted Bauer as my brand of choice starting with the Bauer Comp in '95.

I'm currently in an RBK 9K because a friend of mine at the company hooked me up. They're nice enough, but the lasts are wider and with a more forward pitch than the Bauers I'm used to. I even swapped out the holders to Tuuks, but that only helped a little.

CCMs break down too quickly and Eastons are light, but lack stiffness and stability. I know little about the Mission line, so nothing to offer there other than people who use them tend to like them. You forgot to mention Grafs which are great skates, but the traditional construction is heavier and can get soft, as well as water-logged. Their lasts have even a more aggressive forward pitch than RBK/CCM, so definitely not my cup of tea.

If I was to go into my own pocket for my next purchase, I'd likely go with the Bauer Supreme 70s. The One90's are nice, but pricey and the Vapor line has an aggressive lace pattern that I have trouble getting used to. Hence, Supreme 70's it is.

Of course, if I came across some Daoust 501's, all bets would be off. lol

EDIT: Puck, I'm not sure how you can say that about Bauer or saddle blame on Nike with this one. The Bauer Vapor 10, released in '97 and designed independant of Nike, was the most revolutionary concept in skate design since the Tuuk holder was introduced 20 years before.

Furthermore, the Vapor 20 foamposite design (2002) virtually saved the company and set the table for Bauer's current stranglehold on the skate market. The Bauer brand and its skate category, specifically has never been this profitable or enjoyed such broad market presence.
