Question: who are the Atlanta thrashers going to hire as their new head coach?

also who is the best coach in the american hockey league (AHL)

Answer: You would hope it would be John Anderson who has been head coach of the Chicago Wolves since 1997. The Wolves have been the primary affiliate of the Thrashers for years. Anderson is a former Maple Leaf, still the 14th leading scorer. He has won multiple championships at the minor league level (Colonial Cup, 2 Turner Cups, Calder Cup) and is familiar with working with veteran players and young players. Unfortunately he has been passed up several times before so he may be passed up again in favor of another old guard has-been. Should they smarten-up in Atlanta and finally give Anderson the shot he rightly deserves he may actually take that team somewhere with all that talent. The only problem is that the Wolves will sorely miss him. He and Cheveldayoff have made a fantastic team for a decade.

The best up-and-coming coach in the AHL after Anderson is Todd Richards, who paid his dues as an assistant in Milwaukee for years after a long playing career.

Question: has canada and america "mixed it up" with sports teams?

why is it that the toronto blue jays, a canadian team, is made up of mostly americans playing in a canadian city in a canadian stadium in an american league, but the atlanta thrashers, an american team, is made up of mostly canadians playing in an american city in a canadian league? i like both america and canada but can someone explain to me the mix-up?

Answer: No not at all after these are clubs not national sport teams , so the nationality make up of the respected teams are irrelevant. There was a time when the Montreal Canadians where expected to have a distinct French Canadian make up, but that all changed in the 1970's when they no longer had the 1st rights to players from Quebec.

In fact the captain of the Ottawa Senators Daniel Alfredsson is from Sweden or that the leading scorer of the Anaheim Ducks , Teemu Selanne, is from Finland. Both the NHL and MLB are living in the age of globalization as they both find players from all over the world.

Yes hockey started as a Canadian sport, but by the 1980's the Americans and European players started coming into the league. By 1991 as the old USSR collapsed and the iron curtain was removed the flood gates really opened up.

In the game of MLB baseball something like over 30% of the players are international. They mostly come from the Dominica Republic, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela, but know you also have players that defect from Cuba as well as the Asian ballplayers coming from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

At the end of the day does it really matter where they come from just as long as the athletes keep performing and winning?

Question: What are the odds of immediately getting four aces when playing solitaire?

Like when you first start a game, have you ever gotten four aces right away?

Answer: The previous answer is wrong.

When drawing the first card from a deck of 52 cards, you will draw an ace 4 out of 52 times, the second card you draw an ace 3 out of 51 times, the third time you draw an ace 2 out of 50 times and on the fourth time you draw an ace 1 out of 49 times. Make these into fractions and multiply them to get the answer.

4/52 x 3/51 x 2/50 x 1/49 - the answer is 1 out of every 270,725 or 24 out of every 6,497,400 tries.
