I could be wrong, but i saw somewhere that Florida signed an affiliate deal with the Rochester Americans..
so does this mean that all the players who play for Rochester are now part of the Panthers organization instead of the Sabres?
and now what about the Sabres.. do they need a new affiliate now?
when the get a new affiliate, do all the players that played for Rochester now play for this new affiliate?
Answer: No, the players are still owned by their original teams. The Sabers-owned players now pack their bags and move from Rochester to their new team in Portland. The Rochester team will be filled up with Florida-owned players.
I live near Hamilton, Ontario, where the AHL Bulldogs play. For years they were the Oilers' farm team, but they switched with Montreal. All the Oilers players left for their new team and training camp was filled with Canadiens players.
